I made this substantial serving bowl from local, salvaged White Oak—a generational tree which stood for over 200 years. I twice-turned the bowl: first when the wood was fresh, and then finally after a year of careful, slow drying. I charred the exterior, giving it a dramatic, modern look inspired by Japanese shou sugi ban technique. Sanded smooth and finished with 100% food-grade Tung Oil, it is ready to serve meals and memories at your table.

Care Instructions: Hand wash only. Do not put in the dishwasher, microwave or oven. Do not store while still wet. Re-apply 100% food grade tung oil, 100% food grade walnut oil, or 100% food grade mineral oil occasionally to help preserve this piece for a lifetime.
