Charred and Etched Red Oak. I created this textured hollow form through a multi-step process: turning on the lathe, charring the exterior, sandblasting to etch the raw grain pattern, and finishing with sanding and sealing. The contrast between the deep black char and the exposed, etched wood is striking.

Care Instructions: Wipe clean with a soft cloth. Do not put in the dishwasher, microwave or oven. Apply tung oil, walnut oil, or mineral oil occasionally to help preserve this piece for a lifetime.
